The Ruler app has basically two main options namely Ruler and Photoruler. The app keeps showing two very wonderful other features namely Camera and Plan but they are ads that point towards downloading two separate apps. The features available in the app are named Ruler and Photoruler. The Ruler option has two further sub-categories – Ruler and Ruler 2D. The Ruler is a single plane ruler that can be used to measure the height of any object. You can move the object around to measure its width or length as well. The 2D ruler is a two plane ruler that provides you two dimensions of any object. The measurement is carried out by placing the object on your phone's screen and then sizing the orange markers accordingly to get an accurate measurement. These measurements are only possible for smaller objects that can be placed on your phone's screen. The dimensions of larger objects can be measured using the Photoruler. The Photoruler is slightly complicated as you would need to have a base object on the same plane as the object whose dimensions you need to measure. You would then need to take a picture and give the app an idea of the plane by informing it of the dimensions of the base object (there is a list of base objects present in the app – debit card, ordinary ruler, 1 Euro, 1 Quarter etc.). The app would then give you lines accordingly and you can draw them across the section where the actual object is present and you would get its measurements.

The app works fine and offers accurate measurements. However, there is no tutorial present that can guide you on how to use the app for measuring anything. There is a helpful video developed by the app's developer but this is nowhere to be found on the ruler app itself. The lack of information can puzzle users and leave them thinking that the app is not useful at all.

The ruler app offers measurements in cm, mm, in and fractions as well. You can easily switch the units around whenever needed. The app also has a cool snail feature that slows down the movement of the measuring blinders and decreases the sensitivity of your touch as well if you want more precise measurements.
